La diversité des pratiques d’information d’actualité de jeunes âgés de 15 à 20 ans

Abstract : This article looks at the diversity of news pratices of young people. From our 2014 qualitative inquiry of 33 young french people aged 15 to 20, we discuss news pratices of the young with “Maghreb immigrant origin” and of the other young, “natives”. We successively examine interest in news, type of access, making a distinction between exposure and volontary approach, combinaison of media, and news receipt. Our results suggest, for the young “coming of Maghreb”, a strong appetence for new, an intensity of their news pratices, an use of a plurality of information supports and a critical reading of news, that is unlike the news pratices of the other youth. We conclude by emphasizing the importance of taking both the media and political contexts to study news pratices of all of the youth.
