Documentarité et données, instrumentation d’un concept

Abstract : This article provides an overview of the relatively recent concept of documentarity along with an example of its application to data. The literature review shows that documentarity is distinct from the notion of document and from the theory of documentality. Documentarity is what acts as a document. It allows us to further theorize our perception of information. It shows in particular the procedural and interpretative dimensions of data, in the spirit of alternative terms such as Latour’s sublata and Drucker’s capta. The example of a bibliographic data portal puts in practice components of documentarity such as dispositions and affordances.
