Abstract : Idea management is crucial to the success of a research institute whose mission is to innovate to respond to a company's issues. This paper presents the approach used by IREQ to meet these needs given the specific problem areas of its scientific environment. The result is a concrete process, developed in the field, that is based on tacit knowledge of the environment and its problems and inspired by academic knowledge of the field. The aim of this process is to recognize creativity as a full-fledged activity that can be performed continuously without necessarily having to be associated with any project. The process institutes a storehouse of ideas designed to desynchronize the time when ideas are generated from the time they are used and to favour the sharing of ideas and their development.
