Abstract : In twenty years, the open access digital repositories have become significant features of scientific communication in many areas. The focus today is to develop advanced services for those repositories. The present study proposes, after a first part on the key issues associated with the development of services for open access digital repositories, to draw in a second part a state of the art about services currently available on them. The seven selected devices, meeting the criteria of reliability, critical mass and geographic, typological and disciplinary coverage, have been studied through an analytical and functional grid. Further primary features such as validation, identification, consultation and accession to the references and / or documents, this study identifies emerging functionality and innovative services like personalization, publicizing, references contextualization, communication and collaboration between users. Based on the fact that services related to open access digital repositories are offset gradually only references and / or document to bring the figure of the author at the heart of the information data, the third part of the article specifically examines this servicial dimension. We discuss in particular the opportunity to use these devices to renew the current means of visibility and call for evaluators, rapporteurs or experts in a scientific field.
